AWARDS & BURSARIES



Thundercats Volleyball is proud to introduce The Taso Ballis Real Estate Bursary! This annual bursary will be awarded to (a) player(s) that exemplify excellence and leadership on the court, and are active members in their community and school.

Taso Ballis was a member of Thundercats first boys volleyball team. He knows the significance of a helping hand and how kind words can impact a persons life. The support he received from his teammates, their families and the mentorship from his coaches made a profound impact on his life. He attributes the skills he learned on the court and within the Club to his success as a realtor. Taso is committed to paying it forward and giving back to the Club and the volleyball community and is thrilled to provide this opportunity to our club players.

To qualify, applicants must:
    1.    Be a current rostered Thundercats player for 2022/2023 season
    2.    Be active in school clubs/committees and/or a volunteer in the community.

To apply, please email tasoballis.realestate@gmail.com with cc to info.thundercatsvball@gmail.com. Your email application should be a minimum of 250 words and include the following:

    1.    How the sport has impacted your life and how you will benefit from this bursary
    2.    List all activities you currently participate in, e.g. school clubs, teams, volunteer (feel free to attach a resume)
    3.    Attach a recommendation letter from a (non-relative) teacher, community leader, etc.

Applications will close December 31, 2022 and the recipient(s) will be selected by Mr. Ballis, Thien Nguyen and a select panel. The bursary recipient(s) will be announced in the New Year and their photographs displayed on our social media platforms.
